This announcement was made during the Aviation Africa Summit and Exhibition in Abuja, Nigeria. CEO of Air Peace, Allen Onyema, stated that this acquisition brings their total Embraer orders to 35 aircraft. He emphasized that the Nigerian Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, has mandated airlines acquiring over 20 planes to demonstrate plans for in-country maintenance. As part of the deal, Embraer will assist in setting up the maintenance center in Nigeria, with delivery of the aircraft beginning in 2024. This collaboration, valued at $300 million, aims to foster growth, create jobs, and boost investment in the aviation industry. Minister Keyamo expressed his support for local operators and stressed the importance of reciprocal responsibility to the Nigerian people. Representatives from Embraer confirmed that the first two aircraft are expected to be delivered in late 2024. In 2019, Air Peace initially announced the acquisition of 30 Embraer 195-E2 aircraft, consisting of 13 firm orders and 17 purchase orders, with five already delivered as of 2021.
