Chelsea fans wants N’Golo Kante to come back to Stanford bridge

Chelsea fans have implored N'Golo Kante to make a comeback to the club after witnessing his impressive performance for Al Ittihad. The departure of the midfielder in the summer, following the expiration of his contract, marked a significant move to Saudi Arabia.

Kante, alongside Karim Benzema, inked a deal with Al Ittihad, and the midfield maestro has already left a substantial mark. During a match against Al Fateh, the French international astounded a defender with some skillful footwork before curving a shot into the top corner.

Al Fateh's goalkeeper, Jacob Rinne, stood frozen as Kante's strike kissed the crossbar before finding the net, prompting his new teammates to engulf him in celebration. This goal turned out to be pivotal for Al Ittihad, securing a 2-1 triumph for Nuno Espirito Santo's side.

Chelsea supporters, however, observed with mixed emotions as their once-influential midfielder dazzled in Saudi Arabia, all while they grappled with a severe injury crisis depleting their squad.

One commenter lamented, "He deserved more time at Chelsea. Nowadays, the club seems fixated on recruiting untested youngsters scouted in Football Manager." Another opined, "I had a feeling we should have taken a chance on Kante. Perhaps after the surgery, he would have remained in form."

Kante wasn't the sole high-profile player to venture into the Gulf state, as several others made the move. Roberto Firmino, Riyad Mahrez, Ruben Neves, Sadio Mane, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, and Jordan Henderson are among the notable names to have secured lucrative contracts.

Meanwhile, Chelsea seems to be grappling with the struggles that plagued them in the previous season, as their Premier League campaign kicks off with just one victory. They currently occupy the 14th position in the table, amassing five points out of a possible 15, with an upcoming fixture against Aston Villa scheduled for Sunday.
