The Federal Government asserts that Tinubu's sincerity towards Nigerians remains steadfast, notwithstanding the controversy surrounding his CSU certificate.

In a media briefing at a Business Lunch organized by the Newspaper Proprietors’ Association of Nigeria (NPAN), Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, affirmed President Bola Tinubu's sincerity in addressing the country's challenges. Idris emphasized the importance of trust in elected officials.

Idris referenced recent negotiations with labor unions, highlighting the government's commitment to transparency. He revealed that, after deliberations, the Federal Government settled on a comfortable wage increment of N35,000, demonstrating Tinubu's earnestness.

The minister urged accurate reporting, encouraging journalists to seek clarification when needed. He pledged to tackle alleged reporter censorship at the Presidential villa and assured that the government was working on tax incentives for the media.

Furthermore, Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake, lamented the prevalence of false information in society. He stressed the duty to provide correct and reliable information, advocating for an elevation of standards in the media industry.

During the event, NPAN members discussed the revival of the National Orientation Agency and the restructuring of national broadcasting. Some also called for support, incentives, and press freedom to strengthen the media landscape. The Business Lunch brought together prominent figures from various media organizations across Nigeria.
