A week ago, an incident occurred involving Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, and he claimed it was an act of sabotage. The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and the Nigeria Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) are currently investigating the incident.
In response to the incident, Capt Musa Nuhu, the Director General of NCAA, expressed concern and assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway. The operator of the aircraft submitted a report through the new web-based National Aviation Safety Reporting System, SMS Pro, in compliance with ICAO mandates and the Civil Aviation Act 2022. Despite this, a comprehensive investigation of the incident has already commenced, as stated in the Sunday release.
The Honourable Minister expressed relief that the incident concluded without harm. Additionally, it was assured that the recommendations arising from the NCAA's investigation will be implemented in accordance with Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations (Nig. CARS) and global best practices. The statement further emphasized that NCAA, in collaboration with NSIB, is committed to maintaining and enhancing the high safety standards that have been established in the country over the past decade.
