Novak Djokovic triumphs over Daniil Medvedev at the US Open, clinching his 24th Grand Slam title,

Novak Djokovic, the Serbian tennis player, made history by winning three Grand Slam events in a single season for the fourth time. This remarkable achievement marked his impending return to the world number one spot, all taking place within the iconic Arthur Ashe Stadium.

In the final match of the US Open, Djokovic triumphed over Daniil Medvedev in straight sets, securing his fourth US Open title and a record-equalling 24th Grand Slam singles title. This victory also avenged his loss to Medvedev in the final two years prior. Djokovic, at 36 years old, became the oldest men's champion in New York during the Open era, equalling Margaret Court's all-time record for most Grand Slam victories.

Reflecting on the 2021 final where Medvedev thwarted Djokovic's bid to win all four Grand Slams in a single year, Djokovic admitted feeling overwhelmed at the time. However, in Sunday's championship match, he displayed confidence and took command from the outset.

Djokovic's strong start included confident serves and crucial breaks, propelling him to a 6-3, 7-6 (7/5), 6-3 victory. Medvedev, though a formidable opponent, struggled to consistently match Djokovic's level of play. Despite moments of resistance, Djokovic's determination and skill ultimately secured his historic triumph.
