The Chairman urged the many PDP supporters to stay strong, determined, and follow the law.
The PDP party in Kebbi State did not agree with the decision made by the governorship election petition tribunal. They said the tribunal supported the return of Governor Nasir Idris by INEC.
Usman Suru, the leader of the state PDP, confirmed this in a statement in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday.
The tribunal rejected the PDP's complaint along with their candidate, retired Maj.-Gen. Aminu Bande. They declared Mr. Idris of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the rightful governor of Kebbi.
Mr. Suru stated, "Everyone knows that the governorship election petition tribunal in Kebbi State has given its decision on our complaint about the governor and his deputy's eligibility, and also about election problems and other mistakes.
"We are surprised that the tribunal, led by Justice Ofem I Ofem, made such a surprising decision with puzzling reasons to reject our case.
"At this moment, PDP as a party and complainant, strongly disagree with the decision. We've told our lawyers to look into it and start the process of making an appeal right away."
The leader, therefore, asked the many PDP supporters to stay strong, determined, and follow the law. He said, "We will do everything we can to get back what was unfairly taken from us."
