Kogi governorship candidate, Murtala Yakubu-Ajaka, is known for his peaceful approach in politics. The campaign council emphasized this, countering allegations of violence made by the APC.
According to the council's spokesperson, Isaiah Ijele, the APC's accusations during a news conference were aimed at tarnishing the reputation of SDP candidates and their supporters. They deemed it an attempt at character assassination.
The opposition's claims were addressed by stating that Murtala Yakubu-Ajaka and his supporters uphold the principles of democracy and the Electoral Act. They asserted that the SDP's campaign focuses on issues, without any ethnic bias, in contrast to the APC's approach.
The statement highlighted the SDP's commitment to reviving the state's infrastructure and fostering a peaceful environment for businesses and unity. This, they believe, will lead Kogi towards prosperity. They also pointed out the absence of a solid foundation for the APC candidate, Usman Ododo, to build upon in Kogi.
